Hi, I don’t believe in such a concept and if it existed I’d certainly prefer NOT to be seen as “ normal” as I’ve observed when most use the term normal, it implies something that is accepted, a conformist. Not a unique individual but a prisoner of his own making. A hypocrite at best; and worst of all mediocre. Part of the herd.
I find such a notion not only abhorrent but also freedom denying. How disgusting.
The way others treat me is not my concern or my problem. I can only be held responsible for what I do and how “I” react as an individual. I’m not omnipotent so I can’t control the actions of others so whatever anyone else does is their “problem” so to speak. I couldn’t care less what opinion others have of me as that would imply I have more respect for the opinion of another over my own. What would that make me? It’s imposed slavery as how you feel is not for you to decide but is given up to the whim of another.
Once again as I’ve said in previous replies on such matters,, “normal” is a 6 letter worded concept and therefore totally meaningless as it can be interpreted in an infinite number of ways. Drop trying to be normal. Any trying is getting in the way of oneself and if that’s not idiotic and insane I do not know what is.
Imagine a world If only “normal” people existed. A world without Socrates, Spinoza,
Michelangelo, Verdi, Shakespeare, Einstein. Now that WOULD be hell, wouldn’t it? To be yourself is to be free, and only a free person can know love. Not looking outside for something but being centered and content.
The word love has been polluted and this Is easily observed by anyone when looking at the superficial nature of relationships these days, especially when mere biological attraction inevitably fades.
Many if not most relationships are more like business transactions. Using each other in every possible way to fill some void. Obsession and possessiveness are mistaken for love. If one feels even a hint of jealousy and the need to cling to another for whatever reason, these persons aren’t fooling anyone but themselves.
It’s a pity that many live and die in such bondage as their fear of what others may think is of paramount importance. The sinister religions had a reason to devise such mechanisms otherwise nobody would seek God’s and meanings to life that can never be fulfilled. Belief is not truth. Imaginary fantasies can be comforting but it must be a horrid and difficult endeavor to have the need to constantly delude oneself in order to claim to know. I’m not claiming that one should be a materialist or rely on reason and science alone. There are surely ways to live a fulfilling life without subscribing to fictitious nonsense.
How about thinking for yourself? Wisdom and beauty are not only reserved for the ignorant. Living totally could be a meaning in itself. But centuries of indoctrination have made many incapable of seeing through their stupidity.
Humans throughout the ages have wasted their lives only to look back with regret. No self respect, no freedom or autonomy. Instead they die ridden with guilt and shame. After all we’re said to be half a chromosome away from the chimpanzee. If true, that in itself speaks volumes.
The beauty is that it’s everyones prerogative to think and believe in anything they like. The problem is most of these people feel the need to persuade others and even have their imaginations taught to innocent children in schools as fact! That is immoral and can provide insight to all the ills of this world which aren’t merely coincidental.
